How KiffCars Verified works
The mark means the facts shown about a car have supporting records on file.
It is not a rating, and it is not our opinion of the vehicle. A car can carry the mark and still have things we could not confirm — when it does, we list them next to it rather than leaving them out.
Why there is no overall score
A single number — 94% trusted, 9.2 out of 10 — averages everything together, and an average hides the one thing that should have stopped you. A car with a verified identity, a full service history and an unresolved safety recall would still score well.
So we don't produce one. Every fact is reported on its own, with its own label, and an unresolved item stays visible.
What the labels mean
- Verified
- Checked directly against the vehicle or an official record.
- Supported
- Backed by a document or an earlier record on file.
- Inspected
- Physically inspected and the result recorded.
- Disclosed
- Declared by the seller or the dealership and recorded.
- Needs verification
- Not yet established. A check is outstanding.
- Check incomplete
- A check was attempted but did not return a definitive result. This does not confirm that no issue exists.
- Information unavailable
- No information is held for this vehicle.
- Not applicable
- This does not apply to this vehicle.
“Check incomplete” is not “all clear”
Some checks depend on information we request from a manufacturer or an authority. When we cannot get a definitive answer, we say so. It does not mean there is a problem — and it does not mean there isn't one. It means we don't yet know, and you should ask the dealership before you buy.
